Hi all!

I am returning to 40K, currently using a 500pt Necron force but I'm considering starting an Eldar force now the new codex and models are out but I have no idea where to start, this will be a relatively slow grow force starting at 500-750 pts, my main play group consists of two Tau players, one Farsight enclave suit heavy and one random Tau player and a Khorne Daemon player not that I want to list tailor for these.

I was thinking to start with the following then increase in 250-500pt increments hopefully utilising the original force.

Patrol Detachment
1 Farseer,
1 unit of rangers for my troop choice,
1 unit of 10 dire avengers with exarch, double shuriken catapults
Waveserpent transport for avengers with spirit stones,
450pts total.
Could swap the rangers for a squad of guardians for am extra 25pts taking me to 475pts
Think hold a back objective with rangers/ guardians and push up with Avengers and Farseer in Waveserpent? make the most of the Shuriken rules and hopefully get guide on the squad from the Farseer?

Then increase to 1000pts with another unit of avengers & a waveserpent and something a little more punchy like a wraith Lord or a unit of sword and shield wraith guard but this would mean moving away from the patrol detachment as I would have too many elite choices?

Any help would be appreciated as I don't want to waste my money buying everything and having a really poor force to start with which needs replacing!
