Hi all, I'm a new member and have just been coaxed into 40k by my sons, i have made a 500pt DG force for a trial game using Battlescribe, I would like opinions wether its decent or not...
Death Guard Chaos Lord in Terminator Armour, combi bolter, melta gun, lightning claw.

7XPlague Marines with boltgun, 1XMarine Champion with boltgun and grenades.

10XPoxwalkers

1XPlagueburst Crawler, entropy cannon, heavy slugger, plagueburst mortar

Any comments or advice appreciated

Welcome to the hobby.

Your list seems pretty solid. With 500pt matches being on such small tables, the main thing you'll want to watch out for is any fast units that can tag your tank in close combat and keep it from shooting all the things you want to shoot.

One of the things in the smaller points games too is what you can afford to fight with on objectives. The crawler has to stay back so that pretty much leaves you with the poxwalkers and the lord in one and the marines on another. Both of those are pretty hard to dislodge, so nice and chunky, but they aren't that mobile, so I think you might have a bit of trouble against forces that can move around and take you on one piece at a time.

Currently, you're at 498 points. I'd recommend cutting the marines down to 5 men. You could then add in a unit of 10 cultists for some additional small arms fire and tactical flexibility. This would also allow you to add a Plague Belcher to the Plague marine squad and have you at exactly 500pts. Your Crawler has plenty of firepower to handle the big stuff with a bit of extra option on your leader, while the rest of your force is much better at taking down armies with a higher model count that may try to outmaneuver you.
