First off, are Exarch Powers Battle Traits?

I would argue no, because; while never explicitly stated as such, EPs can only be gained upon a unit gaining a level, which sounds very Battle Trait-y. However, you have to purchase a special requsition for it upon gaining a rank, which sounds a lot more like a Warlord Trait.

The Requisition reads as follows:

Exemplar of the Shrines 1RP

Purchase this Requisition when an ASPECT WARRIOR unit from your Order of Battle that contains a model with the word "Exarch" in their profile that does not have an Exarch Power upgrade gains a rank. That unit gains one Exarch Power as described on page 105; make a note on that unit's Crusade card and increase its Power Rating accordingly. You cannot purchase this Requisition if doing so would cause your total Power Level to exceed your Crusade force's Supply Limit.

Now to my understanding then, an Exarch power is more like a mini-warlord trait, that is only valid for that single unit that has it. However, if you send your Aspect Warrior squad on the path of the warrior (and you honestly have no reason not to), at the end of the path, your unit gains an EP (even if it already has one), basically giving you two mini-warlord traits for your one Aspect Warrior squad.

The reason the question is important is, the core rulebook states you can never have more than six Battle Traits. If it counts as a BT, at least one of them can be gained through a regular level up, but the second one can only be gained through the path of the warrior progression. So if by the time you reach the end of the potw progression your unit already has six battle traits, you effectively waste a potential power up, as you can't ever remove or change battle traits your unit has already gained.
If EPs are not BTs, then Aspect Warrior squads are the only units I can think of in the current meta that have an opportunity for 9 upgrades in the Narrative Play rule set (6 Battle Traits, 2 Exarch powers, 1 Shrine Relic) which is ridiculously powerful, but how I would understand the rules to work. Thoughts and Opinions?

Second; what do you do if you have two Aspect Warrior squads of the same type (as will be the case with my Warp Spiders), both of which walk the potw and reach the last level. While you can have two EPs (with final potw lvl), each one must be unique and there's only three to choose from, meaning that walking the potw is only attractive for one unit, as you effectively waste the potential for a second EP at the end of one of them. I suppose you could agree with your opponent(s) to just duplicate an EP (or even come up with your own), but I'm talking about actual rules interactions.

And lastly, assuming you have an Order of Battle with a couple of Aspect Warriors, all of which have reached Legendary rank (which is reasonable, considering how super powerful some of them can be with the right combos (Dire Avengers with Hail of Doom to auto wound and AP+2 on 6's to hit and shredding fire to trigger the AP+2 on 5 ups to wound anyone?)), what do you do if you want to bring in an Avatar of Khaine?

The Requisition reads as follows:

Court of the Young King 1RP

Purchase this Requisition at any time. Select one Aspect Warrior unit from your Order of Battle that has 5 or more experience points and that contains a model with the word Exarch in their profile:
- That ASPECT WARRIOR unit loses any Exacrh Power upgrades it had. Reduce the unit's Power Rating accordingly.
- That ASPECT WARRIOR unit cannot gain any experience points from the next battle in which it is included on your army roster.
- Add one AVATAR OF KHAINE model to your Order of Battle with the same <CRAFTWORLD> keyword as that ASPECT WARRIOR unit.

You cannot purchase this Requisition if doing so would cause your total Power Level to exceed your Crusade force's Supply Limit.

If you purchase this requisition, you basically sacrifice one of your Exarchs (which is true to lore) to bring in an Avatar. However, since you can only buy the Exemplar of the Shrines Requisition upon a level up, Legendary ranked Aspect Warrior units could never regain an Exarch with an Exarch Power. So do you then just keep an Aspect Warrior unit in your order of battle that you just continually sacrifice the Exarch of to avoid nerfing your Legendary ranked Aspect Warriors?

Admitedly, the idea of sacrificing a legendary Exarch to bring in an Avatar of Khaine sounds like an awesome narrative for a campaign. I'm just asking what your consensus on the performance of this rule is, whether I've overlooked some other kind of interaction?
