Just checking that Hammer of the Emperor hasn't accidentally slightly nerfed sniper rifles for Guard (as though they would need a nerf ).
If you score a 6 to hit, can you still roll to wound for the mortal wound on a 6, even though it will automatically wound?

No. The wound roll is skipped entirely.

Not at all. They are terrible. I was just trying to calculate if they would be reasonably viable en-mass with the combination of Hammer and the nerf to bodyguard. Obviously it would only be worth even considering if they also got to roll for their MW.

Ratling Snipers would still get the normal roll to hit and to wound so would still work as they did before the Dataslate.

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"
