Hi All.

Long time painter and I always like to try out something new. For these Octarius Orks I decided to try out my inktense blocks, which are sort of a solid water-soluble ink. They were great fun to try out!

The good thing about them is they stay soluble on the miniature so you can blend to your heart's content or fix up mistakes very easily. The bad thing about them is they stay soluble on the miniature, so you have to make sure you hit them with spray varnish when you are done to seal everything in.

Living in a flat, I love the idea of minimalist painting setups and not having thousands of paints, so this is what I used for painting these up - imagine me sitting in the kitchen doing a spot of painting...

The steps were brush on some mid grey Vallejo primer (grey + a touch of black - their grey is too pale), rough ambient/zenithal spray with white. The rest was enitrely painted with the inktense blocks + vallejo white. Sealed with some old purity seal.

Here's the finished Ork Kommandos - comments always welcome.

These look nice. Thanks for showing off a medium I wasn't familiar with.
