I'm just getting back into 30k and wargaming in general. I'm really interested in working on my IMC cult horde. However, I'm curious if there has been any new information posted about the IMC.

I know that they are getting a hold-over PDF coming out this month, according to the warhammer community twitter. So I'm assuming that means that they won't be getting an actual codex for a while. Wanted to ask if people had heard further info/rumors on whether there are significant changes coming, if the army is being phased out, etc.

I'm happy to use the PDF for the time being, as I just want to get games in and play at my FLGS. But I'm a bit worried with the news that they and demons are getting left out for the foreseeable future. Maybe as a former Bretonnia player, I'm a little paranoid about my armies being voided by GW So any rumors floating around about long-term IMC plans?

Rereading the WarCom article, who knows. Daemons and C&M are the only two armies in HH that don't explicitly have models for the full range, especially Troops and HQs so it could be that they get their PDFs and nothing else.

It's been said that the Imperial Militia are going to be making a comeback in 2nd edition Horus Heresy. That might have been said by someone misinterpreting an article on Warhammer Community though. Wouldn't be the first time.

Liber Imperium is being released in October, so if they're coming I guess it'll be in that book.

I have no real interest in collecting a Space Marine army (either in 40K or 30K) but if I can use my Imperial Guard in 30K (even with a lot of proxying) that'll give me an excuse to check it out.

If the army is getting a PDF alongside Ruinstorm Daemons I think it means that neither of those factions are going to be in the books released this year.

From how it reads (and from their previous article last week), the Liber Imperium is going to contain Solar Auxillia and talons of the emperor. So Custodes, Sisters of Silence, maybe the Knights Errant?

So I agree with Gert that from what they've written, GW are implying that PDFs are for forces that aren't being released this year. And the only 2 they specifically mention as not being released are demons and IMC.

I'm currently unsure. I want to believe that they'll be in Liber Imperialis, but unlike every other faction so far, it's the only one explicitly not mentioned so far. Everyone else, even daemons, was namedropped at some point. So I'm starting to believe it won't be. Not like it wouldn't be hard to squa- i mean tomb king away.

They were very explicitly mentioned my guy:
