Apologies a bit slow to react. Table looks great, would be very pleased to play on it? As Infinite asked “how did it go?”
I recently played my first game of CoC for a good while and the game was a horrific meat-grinder like start to a campaign. One of my three platoons for the whole campaign was decimated. It was still fun though.

Well, my Germans were advancing pretty steadily. We ran off the French mortar team and killed most of the AT gun, which forced the last guy to head off looking for crepes. There was an LMG on the 2nd floor of a building that pinned one of my squads for a minute, but not much in the way of casualties. I was definitely pressing the attack and slowly pushing them out of town, which was my objective. Unfortunately for me, though, the French player got his 6th CoC point and immediately ended the turn - which happened to be the last turn of the game.
We ran out of time.

Excellent that sounds very tense and thematic - one of the things I love about CoC. I can really recommend the Pint Size Campaigns which whilst sometimes difficult because you need specific forces (it’s pretty easy to use reasonable proxies eg my Panzergrenadiers replace the SS in our current PSC) they are engrossing and make CoC even more fun.
Glad you’re enjoying it. I still haven’t been back to my friends and club yet (due to covid) so reading others’ reports and your evident enjoyment in the game helps me live vicariously.

Lovely set-up. Here is ours from our very first Chain of Command game.
My friend and all his amazing WW II suitable terrain moved to the coast of California, so I'm glad I we experienced this when we had the chance.

That looks great Shrap (My friend relies on my terrain collection but luckily the U.K. is small so nothing is far away).
One thing not covered enough when introducing or promoting tabletop gaming is the “terrain is the third army concept”. Whilst it’s not vital to have a good game, a decent (even basic) set of terrain can really bring everything together and make the experience. Terrain doesn’t have to be expensive; scratch building is cheap and can be fun (and is easy in fantasy and sci-fi as there are no rules) although I can understand people buying pre-made terrain if they have no interest or just want to get to gaming.
Great to see people enjoying themselves with Chain of Command and WW2 gaming generally, keep up the good work.
