Hello everyone, with the new Codex in hand i try to get a small Combat Patrol started (500 Points with options to upgrade to 1000 points later on as we play in those point ranges in our group)

To be honest i clicked a bit in BS but so far I cant come up with a convincing Troop for 500 points. Any recommendations from some "old dogs" or people who already studied the codex to its core?

So far I have no models at all (except for one noise marine and a Master of Possessions) so everything is on the table here.

Master of possessions seems to be strong Af with the new book, if you wanna win get him some obliterators to babysit, and don’t overlook the humble cultist when an objective needs camping.

I play loyal marines, do y’all have 2Wounds post codex? Either way rules come n go man, get yourself some standard chaos marines if only for aesthetics ??

Everything will eventually get viable again, been playing years and nothing stays top dawg for long ??‍♂️ So buy what you can see yourself painting and crush your enemies in style ??

General marines advice:
Pair Combi special weapon on sgts/champs with special weapon to match. With recent changes it’s never been more worthwhile to kit out a sgt equivalent, so maybe go for a melee weapon too?

Cultists will die n bounce off of things… be brave, play cowardly

The master of possessions is a strong force multiplier, if you’re looking for a melee punch in low points games you can do worse than a terminator character for deep strike pressure

Use master of possession with obliterators to resurrect them. It would be a real challenge in a small game to deal with that. Then some 5 man noise marine squads and thats it.

The list won against Sisters with 69 (Nice ) vs. 30 Points.
