Hey everyone, as I can't find a definite answer so far I hope one can point me in the right direction.

Can I use models from Horus Heresy in official 40k tournaments? (Do they count as official models for that purpose)

For example the Legio Kakophony as Noise Marines.

As long as the models are easily identifiable as what they are representing and closely mimic the weapons of the 40K unit, you should be fine. I used Scyllax Guardian-Automata as servitor stand-ins in my last tournament and nobody had an issue with it.

It's all down to the tournament organizer's discretion so just check with them.

I'm going to use HH models for my 40K Crimson Fists, as the Rogue Trader-era look has always been my favorite.

Beakies, Deimos Rhinos and smooth-dome Predators, the old lozenge look Land Raider, just like when I first started.

If it is WYSIWYG and an official GW model I don't see any issue at all.

If you couldn't use 30k models in 40k, a lot of Iron Warriors players would have to ditch their Mark III Space Marines.
