We're hosting a Horus Heresy Day at Gamer's Haven in Colton, CA on 27 August. Its posted on Facebook but wanted to bring it here for those that don't use it.

First and foremost, as this is the initial Horus Heresy 2.0 event at Gamer’s Haven, and the first actual 30k event we have ever held, the priority is fun. As 2.0 is new to everyone, and GW is still making tweaks (as is the community) we are not going to get stressed out over rules, fully painted armies or victory points.

Best General is not a thing for this event. Best Painted takes top prize, as hobby still matters. In fact, we’ll have a best painted army and best painted individual mini; both voted on by the players during lunch. So full army not yet painted? Put forward that Praetor for glory.

Format:
-2 Games of 2,500 points as per Horus Heresy 2.0 rules
-Lord of War/Primarch restrictions as per HH rule book (625 points total) -Missions/Deployment are preset as below to reduce set up time
-No restrictions on named characters or units
-HH Legacy units/Exemplary Battle Units from the GW PDFs are encouraged (We understand some of the rules errors and glaring omissions, plus ridiculous point increases on some minis, please reach out so we can clarify/make adjustments as need be beforehand)
-Force organization as per Crusade or Rite of War (generic or Legion specific permitted)
-Intent is for traitor vs. loyalist but matches will end up based on who brings what army
-NO PAINTING/BASING REQUIREMENTS we understand HH is known for its narrative and focus on the hobby, but to make this as open and welcoming to players working on their first HH armies, there will not be a requirement for this event. Minis should be appropriate armor marks when available (eg MkII-MKVI, no Primaris marines). Conversions welcome, please aim for WYSIWYG with weapons and so on.
-Prizes: Best painted army and individual mini; as voted on by the player base. Raffle for random HH goodies.
