Hi all
Been away from the brushes for about 5 years, just returning now and I though I would (re)share some old minis while I am working on new stuff. Go myself the 40k Elite Starter Set to get the ball rolling once again and I am indeed going with Smurfs for the SMs but I think I'll do a purple scheme on the Necrons, then probably going to do some Tyranids and maybe a few Tau. In the meantime...

I would go about doing all of these differently now, think my skills have improved (hopefully) but I still enjoy them for what they are so I thought I'd show you all ahead of any new work!

Always liked this dude...

This was my first attempt at an Imperial First, came out sort of ok; I wanna do a small IF Army at some point...

First attempt at painting larger areas of gold...

And some Skaven...

That is some solid work there. The purple necrons sound interesting. Are you going for purple glowy bits or the purple as the main colour?

Hi, thanks! Looking forward to sharing the new stuff, Ultramarines Sargent is done except I messed up the plasma glow on his pistol so don't know if I'll redo that or just roll with it.

Purple Necrons I'm thinking like, typical black/gun metal looking skeletal inner bits (maybe a brassy gold though?) but a metallic purple for the outter, plate like parts of the body, with the usual green glow on weapons and stuff. A very soft gold for any decorative bits.
Trying to decide on my best options for a metallic purple, wondering if one of those new fangled contrast paints over a bright silver would work
