Just a heads up for classic Star Wars fans, our group uses armada ships including 3rd party expanded universe ships supported with the babylon 5 wars skirmish space battles rules set (designed by agents of gaming). the conversion rules support clone wars era all the way up to the Yuuzhan vong invasion era.
They are free to download here-

B5 wars standards we did a massive game this weekend using the Star Wars mod for the system.
This was a classic clone wars setting-breaking a CIS blockade, the republic forces win the scenario if they can get the landing ship acclimator to the planet for invasion. the CIS force just has to stop them.
The republic forces-
.venator
.acclimator assault ship
.acclimator landing ship
.X4 repblic armed cruiser
.x3 flights of fully loaded ARC-170
.X1 flight of jedi piloted actis fighters
The CIS side-
.lukerhulk droid control ship
.providence destroyer
.munificent frigate
.recuscant destroyer
.X3 squads of droid tri-fighters
.X2 squads of belbullabb heavy fighters
The republic players made a few mistakes (i was not going to make it easy on them afterall)
Since asteroid field block
LOS the CIS force moved up to use them as cover forcing the republic fleet to close for a close range broadside engagement that favored the CIS.
Like a true jedi commander the republic force took the bait and charged straight into the trap. what is worse they had varied their speed so much they ended up breaking up the fleet feeding ships in one at a time. the additional mistake was the ventaor presenting its side instead of its bow where the hanger could soak much of the damage.
The CIS force lost the munificent in the exchange (that win goes to the ARC 170s dropping torpedoes to finish it off) as to be expected as it was the most dangerous target to eliminate and quite a bit less durable than the providence.
the fighter furball ensued, as the tri fighters were out of position to help they attacked and destroyed an armored cruiser while the belbullabbs tried to thin out the ARCs loosing most of their numbers.
Next to come step into the trap was the acclimator assault ship. while it managed to survive after taking out the recuscant, it was critically damaged. also by this point most of the ARCs were down as were 2 more armored cruisers. the republic forces decided they didn't want to risk trying to run the gauntlet between the damaged but opeational providence and the fresh lukerhulk that was waiting in the back as a blocking ship. the order to withdraw was given as the republic ships made the jump to hyperspace.
After action report-
This was the republics fight to lose-
the target ship (acclimator) came in at an incredibly high speed and could have easily flanked the blockade while the other ships provided a distraction. instead, it hung back somewhat closer to the main force and never really engaged. as a landing ship/carrier it was also heavy on the anti-fighter weapon loadout so even sending droid fighters after it would have proven difficult.
This game took quite a while given it's size and had a slow start but it was great fun for all involved.
