...so I was mid-way through making up a set of rules for a Dredd-inspired miniatures game, when I thought I'd better check if it had already been done...and it has, of course. Anyone out there played it? Is it good? What can you compare it to?
I was imagining a skirmish-like Kill Team style game with alternating action, moving from cover to cover, kicking doors down etc. In my version, Dredd would team up with Anderson, and you'd fight your way through a Mega City block. The Lawgiver gun fits this kind of game perfectly as you can select what type of ammo you use with each shot. Take out groups of perps with the Hi-Ex, or get through strong defences with the Armour Piercing rounds, etc. Then you have Anderson's Psi abilities to foresee danger, which would easily transfer into the game too.
With only two miniatures at your disposal, the odds are heavily weighted against you, making tactics key. Dredd is super hard of course, and you have/can pick up stimulants to keep fighting when you're near to death.
I like the idea of the judges fighting through hordes of perps, gunning down wave after wave, in order to reach their mission objective.
Is the real thing anything like this?
