Subject: [KS] Zone Wars - Mutant Year Zero: New Video - ENDS TODAY
Andy Chambers wrote the rules. Fria Ligan approached him because they enjoyed his Strontium Dog rules published by Warlord.
Here’s an interview with him about Zone Wars:
It was designed with playing 2+ players, not 2 players and then more as an afterthought. Sounds like they are also working on solo/co-op rules. It has a campaign mode, as you would expect.
“Sundropped” means shaded via airbrush at the factory. They have posted instructions how to easily strip this paint for people who to paint from the bare plastic. They are made from PVC plastic. They are described as “hard plastic” and not “bendy.”
Play area for 1 v 1 is 2’x2’. The game comes with a paper mat.
What a great endeavor. I was jonesing for figures of that Duck and Pig for quite a while since playing the computer game.
I really enjoyed that Duck/ Pig back and fourth in the video game. And seeing the RPG being taken up by Free League had me really interested. I've got a bunch of old school muties and scavengers from other games that are just screaming to come back to the table and get painted up. THIS would give me a real good excuse.
And it's Free League, so it's in good hands. You are going to get what you pay for with them. They did a real good job with T2000, and that Tales from The Loop is a smasher.
What a great looking project!
At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.
I saw there was a backer only post with updated rules. I've just recently started this year dipping my toes into the Free League pool of rpg games and this tabletop game last night so obviously missed this; has anyone tried playing the earlier alpha rules and looked at the recent update to compare them? I'll be looking at some gameplay on youtube tonight (thanks for the links above) but figured I'd ask how comparable they are to the RPG.
