I use Discord for a lot of communication. Was wondering if the team of MEdge had a server set up. I see nothing in the Community Page for it, nor does Google reveal anything, so I'm assuming that it doesn't exist.

Am I just blind and not seeing it? Or is it not a thing?

We do not have a discord (currently), mainly because we'd imagined that this forum on Dakka fills kind of the same role that a discord would, though in this day and age I'm sure more people are comfortable using discord than starting a Dakka account to post here.

So with all that said, we can certainly start one if it would provide a tangible benefit. I imagine it would be fairly slow/empty for the most part however, so what benefits do you see that us having one would offer?

I tend to use Discord as a place to talk to people-in a more regular fashion than a forum. Because the responses are instantaneous (well, minimal delay if the other person is online) it can help foster community.

I do agree it'd be starting slow, but it also doesn't cost any money.

I did look into it some time ago, but it wound up being pushed aside due to lack of time. Hoping next year to start ramping up the social media in general, though, so we'll have to see what happens.
