My understanding of the HH rules is still heavily influenced by pre-8th Edition WH40k. So - a couple of points:

1. Is it worth giving a Legion Praetor both a Paragon Blade and a thunder hammer? It used to be quite useful to give a powerful character both types of melee weapon.

2. Can I equip a squad Sergeant with an augury scanner? I’ve just realised that the unit entries suggest that it’s only the “Legionnaries” in the squad who can take one.

1. It's worth it if you have the points, since it gives him an extra attack for 2 specialist weapons. It's definitely pricey but pumping a praetor to 5 attacks with 6 on the charge can mean the difference. 6 attacks with a master crafted thunder hammer can be absolutely brutal....(brutal 2 infact..) youve also got the versatility of the blade for challenging other characters and then the hammer for smashing in terminators and dreads.

2. If an option says legionaries only, then the seargent can't have it. If it's "any model" then the seargent can have it. It's a bit of an annoying change for some units since in v1 the sarge was the model who had the augury scanner and that's now been reversed.

Thanks. I found a nice thunder hammer for my Praetor then realised I didn’t’t know if it was sensible.

The augury scanner thing is annoying. I’ll have to remove them from my Sargents, which will require considerable surgery…
