Hi everyone.
I just want to make sure I have this right.
A Space Marine Attack bike is cheaper in a Bike squad. Than it is in a Attack Bike Squad

We can't confirm or deny an individual point cost like that. We can tell you that points updates are found at:
https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-us/
with the most recent one being

Yep, go to the source.
Look in the FAQs and Downloads sections of WarCom.
[It may be that the points have not changed though, and may not be lsited.]

Yep. Sorry.
Do know the rules. Meant to have put that in original post.
I will adjust OP.
Just seems a little odd that there is a points difference between Attack Bike Squad & Attack Bike in a Bike Squad

Neither the linked PDF documents nor the printed codex give a clear answer. They both say that units in an attack bike squad cost X and that units in a regular bike squad cost Y (with X > Y).
In the absence of other information I think we have to assume that an attack bike added to a regular bike squad counts as a bike squad model and so it costs the lower amount. This makes no sense but there is nothing that definitvely says that it should cost more.

Technically you are correct. Most of the time when you see mixed model squads like this, each type of model is costed individually. For example - see the Crusader Squad for the Black Templars in the FAQ with a points per model for Neophytes and for All Others. In this case it's not.

Yes. An Attack Bike added to a Bike Squad does cost 30 points compared to the 50 points per Attack Bike in an Attack Bike Squad. Why?
Probably because GW has assumed you will add the Attack Bike and factored that into the overall unit cost rather than calling it out specifically. This is similar to how every model in a Devastator Squad cost the same points even though only 5 (Sgt and first 4 models) can be upgraded in any way.
GW could (an IMHO should) be a little more discriminating in unit cost, this is the way they decided to go.

What makes you think that an attack bike in a bike squad is 30 points ? I see no entry for an attack bike in a bike squad in MFM 2023. So you cannot include an attack bike in a bike squad anymore, or its free, because it has no entry. Weapons and wargear not listed is free, but an attack bike isnt a weapon or wargear.

It's an option but isn't listed with a separate points cost, so you pay the 30 points for the model as per the MFM. Note, this is exactly the same situation as the Lokhust Heavy Destroyer in the regular Lokhust unit, and that's been the case there since the Codex released (or possibly the first MFM after that).

The unit size is 3-9 models. Each model costs 30 points, as per the MFM.
It does not differentiate between regular bikes, attack bikes, and biker sergeant.

I'm thinking that since an attack bike attached to a squad isn't as flexible as an attack bike by itself, that brings the cost down a bit. A heavy bolter in a bike squad isn't all that OP, even if the model carrying it has +1 wound and an extra slap attack.
Also, note that the MFM includes a point cost for a multi-melta, which regular bikes can't take.

Exactly. The Datasheet for Bike Squad notes the unit is: 2-7 Space Marine Biker1 Biker Sergeant0-1 Attack BikeSo 3-9 Models, which the MFM says are 30 Points per Model.

Yeah, the app still has the old points, and it was charging the unit a whopping 20 points for the heavy bolter.

This is true. They used to have a cost listed for heavy bolter and multimelta witch was how you payed for the attack bike upgrade. Bot now they are free.
Dont know if anybody will take them stil.

Unit cost.... 30 pts/model.
Unless you're trying to argue that an attack bike isn't a model?

This is how I looked at it as well. 30 pts was for the bike chassis and you paid for the heavy weapon on-top effectively bringing the cost back to the standard attack bike cost.
