Service update: 19th of January 2023
Following the recent cyber incident, we are trialling operational workarounds and have started moving limited volumes of export parcels. While we trial these operational workarounds, we continue to ask customers not to submit any new export parcels into the network. Our initial focus will be to clear mail that has already been processed and is waiting to be despatched.

We are pleased to announce that we have resumed the export of International Standard and International Economy letters which do not require a customs declaration (i.e. these letters do not contain goods); International Business Standard (untracked) and International Business Economy personal correspondence letters (which do not require a customs declaration) to all international destinations. From 1900 on 18 January, customers will be able to start sending International Standard and International Economy letters which do not require a customs declaration (i.e. these letters do not contain goods); International Business Standard (untracked) and International Business Economy personal correspondence letters (which do not require a customs declaration) into the Royal Mail network through all channels including Royal Mail post boxes and Post Office branches.

Royal Mail continues to work with external experts, the security authorities and regulators to mitigate the impact of this cyber incident, with a focus on restoring export services. Our import operations continue to perform a full service, with some minor delays. Parcelforce Worldwide export services are still operating to all international destinations though customers should expect minor delays. Royal Mail’s UK services are still operational.

Our teams are continuing to work around the clock to resolve this disruption and we will update you as soon as we have more information. An investigation into the incident is ongoing and we are working with external experts. We have reported the incident to our regulators and the relevant security authorities.

Ugh... my poor Hasslefree and Renedra orders...

My last order from the UK took a 4-week detour to the States, was sent back to the UK and disappeared mid-flight. Replacement items then took another 4 weeks to get to Australia.

So imports into UK are ok its just export from UK right?

Yeah imports to UK are OK. Just cant send anything out.

The latest update from Royal mail is a real copout - 99% of stuff needs a Customs declaration to ship overseas so they havent really done anything to help small business owners

Luckily all the customers have I have contacted to explain delay have been very patient but RM need to get their finger out

Royal mail resumes more services after cyber incident
International service has restarted but is limited, so it is not a full recovery.

Makes sense to do a limited service to test your fixes before going at full volume. Here's hoping what they've put together is robust.

Just got a Royal Mail confirmation email for one of three of my orders...

So there's that.

Managed to get a few tracked orders out yesterday, seemed to go ok so more today.

They did warn it may take longer and tracking may be a bit patchy.

We still cannot send parcels overseas due to the cyber attack on The Royal Mail. We're keeping all the orders packed up ready to go at North Star, as soon as the all clear is given we'll send them out.
Note: This does not include USA customers, your parcels go by USPS. "

Shipping larger parcels internationally via non-royal mail couriers has still been possible - although in most cases the increase in cost was horrendous.

Shipping smaller items or items in "envelope" type packets is the problem.

Royal mail tracked and signed services are back up running now though.

I do find it somewhat interesting that Royal mail have fixed their most expensive services, but international standard is still "in progress"

My Renedra order has been sitting in Royal mail for 30 days now.

Looks like full international business was announced by Royal Mail as nearly but not quite restored as of 17 Feb.

Should be noted that Royal Mail's tracking has not quite caught up - we have seen RM's tracking saying they have not even picked up a package from us yet when it is in fact already with the customer.

They are making progress but it is not superfast at the moment.
