I was thinking a few days ago that it might be cool if the Legions that fall to specific gods got special perks if they allied with the daemons affiliated to with those gods, and vice versa. The Emperor's Children and daemons of the Rapturous Sensation faction could buff each other, as could the Death Guard and Putrid Corruption, World Eaters and Heedless Slaughter, and Thousand Sons and Infernal Tempest. Even though not all of these Legions had fully fallen to their god until at least the Siege of Terra, it could be explained lore-wise that the styles of warfare employed by specific Legions and types of daemons gradually grew them closer together over time, uniting them in a sense of common purpose. For example, the Thousand Sons were making use of Tzeentch daemons as familiars long before the Heresy, while Nurgle corruption had begun seeping in early into the Death Guard during the Heresy with characters like Ignatius Grulgor and the Lord of the Flies. I think that this could add a fun and fluffy dynamic to the Traitor forces.

Beyond this, the Word Bearers could have a similar set of rules interactions with Encroaching Ruin daemons due to the Word Bearers' dogmatic adherence to the concept of Chaos Undivided. Iron Warriors could be linked to Malevolent Artifice due to the emphasis on technology, the Night Lords with Formless Dissolution due to the emphasis on the theme of body horror and torture, the Alpha Legion with Ravenous Dissolution due to the theme of them seemingly fighting against Chaos all the while making use of the corrupting tools of Chaos to do so. The Sons of Horus meanwhile could be able to have these interactions and buffs with any daemonic faction.

Honestly that kind of seems to be the idea. Ravenous Dissolution is also eerily similar to Malal/Malice, the retconned anti-Chaos Chaos god.

In any case it is refreshing that we are seeing some effort to expand the idea of Chaos beyond 4 neatly order categories.

Chaos Undivided is supposed to include all manner of independent daemons and minor powers that can manifest in various forms and entities.

...you make expensive ugliness...how do you do it?...let me guess....

For tenth edition 40k, I hope that these other factions are added to the Chaos Daemons army in some form or other. GW has a tendency to treat the Realm of Chaos like it's an office building with four suites instead of a place of complete madness where all forms of emotion and expression are possible.

Or at the very least better representation of both sides of a god. Nurgle isn't just sickness. He is decay and growth. Khorne battle but also order. Tzeentch aspiration as well as plotting.
