I’ve seen that there are a lot of 3D prints available for Marvel characters that Atomic Mass haven’t yet made for Crisis Protocol. From the photos some of them look amazing but I’ve never 3D printed a miniature and I wondering how these compare, quality wise to the official ones. Are they any good? Also, are they really the same scale? Does anyone have any experience with them? I’d love a Hercules to stand next to my Thor for example.

There's definitely some wonderful fan sculpts out there. There's no consistent quality since they come from a variety of sculptors but there are certainly some very nice ones that look great and are clearly sculpted at 40 mm scale that fits MCP just fine. Characters without rules can be tricky, but if you find a character that you can proxy as (I'd recommend Ulik) it should work fine.

Here's a shot of game vs one of my friends that printed a set of Web Warrior proxies.

I can't speak for that game specifically, but yes, 3d printers can produce a model that is the equal of a cast one. It's all down to the quality of the digital sculpt, rather than the printer. If you can find a file that you are happy with, then a decent printer will be able to reproduce it to a very high standard.

Thanks for the tips both (and that photo with the terrain looks fantastic!). Also a good tip to proxy Ulik for Hercules. Similar powers and strength.

I guess what I’m still curious about though is how the quality of the sculpts compares to those of professional companies. Can this dan art really live up to what Atomic Mass makes? Seems to on the photos……

Again, I can't speak for that company specifically, but a lot of talent are moving away from salaried positions and making a much better living selling their sculpts online through various platforms, so often it is the same artists who worked for those 'professional companies' who are producing those sculpts available elsewhere. So again, yes. The quality can be just as good.
