Gamers Haven Horus Heresy Day

Battle of the Filthy Casuals

Come one, come all: its Horus Heresy Day at Gamer’s Haven in Colton, CA. As usual, the intent here is to have fun, build the 30k community and push around our toy soldiers while making pew pew noises.

Format: Three games of 2,000 points. Restrictions are per normal force org; so super heavies/Lords of War need to be 500 points or less. No restrictions on units, rites of war, legacy units and so on. As reminder, when building your list, remember: “would this be fun to play against” and if the answer is “probably not”; maybe tone it down. We will try to pair loyalist vs. traitor, but it will depend on who all brings what army.

Missions: we are going to be leveraging Goonhammer’s Horus Heresy missions as they’re a nice set and change from the book missions. We’ll play missions 1-3 (available to review here: https://www.goonhammer.com/goonhammer-approved-horus-heresy-mission-pack-2023/ ) which has set turns (five each) and set deployments. For lunch, we’ll probably order some pizza. Snacks/drinks etc. are available for purchase at Gamers Haven.

Painting/Modeling: No requirement for painting, obviously we encourage fully painted and based minis, but this is a fun, local event with the intent of growing the community; so no requirement.

We’ll do a best painted army and best painted mini (voted on during lunch).

1130-1230 Lunch
1230 Game 2 Starts
1500 Game 3 Starts
1730 Wrap up, awards for best painted, best loyalist/traitor.
