I haven't had a chance to properly sit down with the new rules yet, but at a skim it seems pretty similar to what I know of the 9th edition version. And I was excited to try out the 9th edition version.

The limited unit selection is a fair trade-off, if a bit of a bummer. (I can include swooping hawks and Maugan Ra, but not dark reapers?) Still, It seems like there's enough list building flexibility to have fun putting together boarding parties.

What do you guys think? Is there anything obviously awful about Boarding Action I'm missing? Any horror or glory stories you want to share to talk me into/out of trying it?

Also, can anyone tell me the dimensions of the boarding action terrain? I think I'd rather make my own variety of terrain rather than fighting on an imperial ship over and over again.

ATTENTION
. Psychic tests are unfluffy. Your longing for AV is understandable but misguided. Your chapter doesn't need a separate codex. Doctrines should go away. Being a "troop" means nothing. This has been a cranky service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled arguing.

One of the things I like about boarding actions is that they're designed for 500 points, so it's another way to put small armies on the table now that the Core rules only design for 1k+.

I never bought any of the books, so I'm missing some pretty important rules. But I have all the White Dwarf missions, so if I can get 10th rules free, I'd give it a go.
