As Dekskull asked me a while ago, I would start this topic in preparation of a round of Wrath and Glory, as our Only War RPG test round is in the process of being wrapped up.
So this is an invitation for everyone interested to shout "here! Me!" and share ideas what we want to do. I would offer to serve as GM, but am of course happy to just be a player, if anyone else wants to do the honor.

The process will be like in our only war adventure "Against the savages". We have one Off topic thread (this one right here) were all the rules babble gets into and will have another in time thread where the characters act.

I'm not sure about the legality to post such a link, but lets just say with a bit of googling you might find the rules online, otherwise I will gladly help with character creation etc.
As one of my main interests is to test out new RPG systems to pick what I like for my own pen and paper rounds and that is easier with a bit experienced PCs, XP wise I would say we start somewhere around 250-300 so between tier 2 and 3 in the rule book, but I'm flexible. I'm open to any character archetype you find interesting.

Regarding the adventure itself: I have nothing prepared yet but I feel confident I can figure something out if you give me a few pointers what you WANT to play. While there will be some fighting I would prefer it, if there was a certain element were other skills (social, stealth etc.) come into play.

Some classical examples would be:
- an inquisitor and his associates hunting for a cult
- a mixed strike force infiltrating an enemy hive to do some sabotage
- the survivors of a lost battle trying to get to friendly lines again while going "undercover"
- a normal day in the live of a mixed group that suddenly horribly goes wrong and forces them to work together to survive

and surely many more. So, raise your hands if you are interested.

I love Navigators as chracters in40k rpgs. They tend not to be the most powerful, as psionics is a big deal in 40k, and Navigators dpecifically can't have any, other than Navigation (and the deadly "Warp eye" in those campaigns where the GM allows it), but they can be important. Also, they can be well-connected politically, which I think is a lot of fun.

If we find the people for a campaign, I would allow it. But it would be a young Navigator, as it would be hard to explain why an established ship Navigator would venture out to experience adventures. Regarding the warp eye: I would either treat it as the smite power or just like the Ballistic mechandrite (so like a laspistol with endless ammo and no need to change clips or use a hand.). Anything more would be too powerful. But it is possible

Nah. I'm cool with my Tech Priest. Really looking forward to this!

Is Tech Adept Kraen doing okay after all of one post? Any criticism happily accepted.

That should stay in the Only war topic, but yeah, you gave him a very interesting spin. I like it.

Huh. No techie am I (well, not in real life, anyway). I have no idea how that got there.

I'm glad you are getting on board with Wrath and Glory. I've run campaigns with this on Ro'll 20 and I think it's a great system. The team's wrath and glory vs the story teller's ruin! It's also fun because you can play orks, chaos, or eldar as well.

It ultimately depends on what frame work you want to run with. For something like a forum game, I feel like the simpler the better. Exploring a space hulk would certainly be a fun and easy route to take!

Edit: Just saw that you wanted Tier II or Tier III. In that case, I'd like to go with a Rogue Trader. That gets me an Imperial Frigate for this crew to roll around in. Boo yah.

So what do people think? Anyone ready to join my Space Hulk Salvage Operation?

If you don't mind being GM though I'd appreciate it. Got enough going on with my roll 20 group these days.

Feel free to advertise this. In my experience the critical mass is 4 players, as one usually quits and less then 3 doesn't really work unless they are exceptionally extrovert. Thats not meant as a rant, it's just my experience from almost two decades of forum RPGs. And sometimes I was the quitter...

LOL hats off to you for keeping the other game going for so long! Maybe some of the only war crowd will join in for the next adventure

I would also like to continue the only war party. We can play in parallel. "Back in the days" I usually had 2-4 Forum RPG thingies running in parallel

Sounds good to me. We could also have story continuity as well. Maybe some kind of boarding action in space above the planet we are fighting over in Only War?

I'm hoping some of our Only War will come over to the Wrath and Glory thing.
