The question I have is how large can a battle played by this ruleset be and still be adequate, coherent, intended experience? Ideally I'm looking at like 4-5 infantry squads, 4-5 IFVS, same number of heavy vehicles and some air assets. It's pretty hard to find information online, and the rulebook's guidelines are very vague. By "adequate and coherent" I mean still be playable in reasonable timeframe (2-3 hours all things considered) and without being bogged way too much by endless rolling and calculation. Some games can be scaled relatively easy (Blood&Plunder is perfectly playable and mostly balanced at 100, 150, 200, 250 points - armies can double in size, but the game largelly stays the same and doesn't turn into a slog in my experience), some games break immediately once you go beyond their minimal size. Can anybody shed some light on this?

Well GRUNTZ is just Warmachine with all the interesting parts removed, and Warmachine scales very poorly, so I have my doubts.

Possibly, that makes sense at least. We'll probably stick to our rewrite of Horizon Wars then.
