Me and my mate have been playing 5th edition since we're not big fans of the new rules, it's good fun but you run into some restrictions with new models that weren't around back then.

So yeh, I made some custom rules for the new ork buggies (Boomdakka Snazzwagon, Kustom Boosta-blasta, Shokkjump Dragsta, Megatrakk Scrapjet, Rukkatrukk Squigbuggy). It's actually a fully customisable 'Big Buggy Builder' that allows you to make all sorts of custom buggies if you're that way inclined.

As for balance, no custom datasheet is perfect but I there's a few similar vehicles in the codex to base it on, and I tried to use existing weapons where possible so it shouldn't be too bad.

You can check out the datasheet here. Idk if there's any wider community out there for playing 5th edition but I thought I might as well. These rules should be mostly fine for 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th edition too given they're all similar:

If you have any opinions feel free to leave comments.

(also I'm new here, sorry if i posted in the wrong place or anything)

What you need to answer all your questions isn't custom rules. forge world has already done the work for you. imperial armor book 8 "the raid on kastorel novum" the ork mek army list has a section for elite vehicles called mek junkas that are fully customizable that effectively make all the units you are looking for.

let me know if you need any more help.

Hi there!
These are some interesting custom rules, i see I'm not the only one who thinks 5th is the best edition haha! Me and my my mate already do a couple of these as house rules.

Yeh, i am familiar with the mek junkas (it's also in IA apocalypse 2 btw), very cool ruleset great to have a shock attack gun on a vehicle lol.

I suppose at a stretch it can work for a proxy, there's weapons for some of the vehicles, my main problem is that its a tank not a fast vehicle though (not to mention a transport).

Probably a good idea if you wanna go rules as written, but these rules let you go a lot more fluffy. Obviously normally custom datasheets have their own host of balance problems, but i mean an unarmoured open topped buggy isn't exactly hard to belance there are plenty of other examples to base it off.

Except when it isn't

Turbo charga is stock equipment on a junka making it a fast vehicle.

(not to mention a transport).

If you do not put ard case on it, it can transport 10 models.

Yeh, it's a fast vehicle unless you roll a 1 lol, then it's immobilised (actually a very funny ability dont get me wrong but not entirely appropriate for this model). And the transport thing is an issue, it shouldn't be a transport its tiny.

The junka is also massively over-armed to represent the buggies, while also not having the options to represent all of the different kinds of new buggy.

As I said, it's sorta plausible if you're group is more competitive minded, but for casual groups like mine I'd much rather have rules that actually represent the model on the table.
