So in the past (read + - 3 years ago) I've used hobby glue to make bits of river on some bases, but somewhat more recently (read: about 1.5 years ago) also on the Tyranid bases as "slime" that either dripped from a Toxicrene or from makeshift eggs (made from flower seeds)..

2 days ago I dropped my toxicrene and it disconnected from the base showing that my spacemarine 'victim' of it had dark red/brown stains everywhere.. at first I was really flabbergasted unsure where it could've come from.. suspected maybe some insect or whatnot had done something weird with my miniature but then I realised I had used hobby glue (the translucent type, although I do alternate between that and the thicker white glue in my projects depending on wether I wanted it to be optics or functional) .. so yesterday checked some of the bases (as the example; the river ones) and yep.. all those rivers were dark brown/red..

Considering I used the glue in much seperate occasions and have been inspecting my miniatures before and never noticed anything weird with the river.. what the heck..

Could it have been caused by warmth? (It wasn't exactly warmer in my house this summer than any other summer, only had like 1 week of warm weather in my location anyway)

I'm definately not using that glue again (I know there's other options for rivers/slime etc but there's no hobby stores in my area so its harder to get things here and always need to improv.)

Anyone else had this or knows what causes it?

Without knowing specifically what type of glue it is, we won’t be able to help much. Post a photo of the bottle and we may be able to answer more clearly.

Have you had any dealings with blood-related powers? Khorne might be showing his favor by changing your glue into blood.

Have to tried offering up a sacrifice to the dark powers and seen if that fixes the issue?

I have not added anything to the glue, I did read up on that glue can become darkened when it so calledly "goes out of date" but this glue isn't out of date nor did it look like this for atleast an entire four years ago for the Adeptus Mechanicus vizors, three years since I made the bases for the Rockgut Troggoths, and only about a year ago the Toxicrene. So the time-seperation suggests it wasn't due to any form of molding which makes it so much more mysterious.

Added image with bottle and the darkened glue..
