I'm a long term collector of models and enjoyer of lore, but I'm pretty much a total noob when it comes to the actual gaming side. I've spent the last couple of months building a Raven Guard army with a view to actually playing it, and I have a question:

It seems like HH very much favours taking a squad of all the same weapon type, but are there any situations or squad loadouts where mixing weapons would be appropriate? Mixed volkite and plasma in a tactical support squad? Flamers and chargers? Various heavy weapons in a heavy support squad?

What are people's thoughts?

United Kingdom

Generally, units that can mix weapons are veterans or Legion specific (like Emperor's Children Sun Killers).

Neither the Support or Heavy squads can mix weapon options.

Ah, yeah, looking closer at the lists, I see that's the case. Shame...
