So I’ve been working on painting Magnus the Red for over a month and then I stupidly dropped him. The blade of his axe snapped off. It’s a weighty weapon attached to a thin shaft and no matter what I do I can’t seem to get it glued back on. I started with superglue but after several false starts switched to epoxy but that didn’t work either. I then tried cutting all the glue off and using plastic cement out of sheer desperation but no good either. I’ve now tried some JB Weld and hoping it’ll set over night. It’s really disappointing because the paint job was so very nearly finished and I’d put in a lot of hours. After all my messing around the fit isn’t perfect any more anyway and I’m going to need to do a bit of restoration with green stuff. But does anybody have any tips for a glue and could use to get that piece back in place?

Do this: use jewelry file and clean broken area of previous glue; use pin vise and drill shaft and blade to align, clip a piece of paper clip and insert; use super glue.

The problem is that the shaft is just too thin to pin. My smallest drill bit is almost as wide. So far the JBWeld is holding but I’m keeping my fingers crossed it stays that way……nail biting stuff

In that case you can either go get a set of drill miniature drill bits or the weapon bit and replace the whole weapon.

Well so far the weapon is holding with my solution. Still keeping fingers crossed. If it does snap I've got the other hand that came with it but that one's carrying a sword and I do like that long axe thing he's got.

I’ve had to pin/repair weapon hafts before. If you have a drill small enough to do gun barrels, it should work. Just very tight and fussy work.

Harder for chaos, but gluing a purity seal helps for loyalists to reinforce a bond. Not sure what would work for that model.

Could maybe reinforce with greenstuff and sculpt it as another glob of eldritch fire or something?
