Hi all,

I'm trying to get back in the game now in 10th and I recently acquired a box of Reivers.

When looking at their data sheet it looks to me that each reiver in the squad can take BOTH a Grapnel Launcher AND a Grav Chute. But in every guide I've read or seen yet it sounds like you have to choose between the two.

It seems that these guys need all the help they can get so of course I would like to assemble the models with both pieces of equipment

So my question is: Can I take both Grapnel Launcher and Grav Chute on my Reivers or are they mutually exclusive?

Thanks in advance.

I believe in previous editions it was a choice between the two but I've double checked the new codex and its nicely clear that both options can be taken, it gives them some nice movement options which is something at least!

Cool! Thanks

Yes I was hoping that the other reading was just "residue" from 9th. The slight upside from not really knowing the last edition I guess

Preciously they were upgrades you needed to pay points for that both did very similar things (gave deployment/mobility options) on a unit that already under performed for their point cost. So taking one to add a trick to their toolbox could be worth it, but both was just tossing good points after bad.

With 10th’s philosophy on points (bake all the upgrades into the base cost) there is no reason not to take all of them all the time.

The model can, so the rules permit it now.

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"
