Day 93

Washes and tidy up done yesterday, today I’ve added copper to the Neutron Laser, followed by Red Tone wash by Army Painter. Lovely wash. Really deepens copper and brass tones.

Just the red left to go and this ‘un will be done.

I don’t think I’ll be adding more, because those arms can be a right pain in the hoop.

More wee buildings built, including a dive into the spires set.

Proper minimal effort today as I’m knackered.

Two Epic Contemptors assembled, the Heavy troops have their missile launchers glued, and the sprue is nearly ready for spraying - just need some strategic clipping on the Assault troops.

Day 96

Set of Astartes Infantry assembled and half sprayed. Soon as dry, flip and do the other side.

Should get all of those painted and based tomorrow, as they’re dead easy.

Day 97

Gonna belt out that box of Astartes Infantry.

Sprues broken down for ease of painting, with the same recipe. Spray (before breakdown of sprue!) Mechanicus Standard Grey, then light drybrush Army Painter Gun Metal*, heavy going over of Army Paint Speed Paint Grim Black. Finally details (light grey on Terminator Tabards, Vampire Red on right shoulder pads etc).

Bases are MSG, stipple a couple of different greys, thinned wash of Agrax. Glue the models. And job done.

This lot will let me max out the existing units in my Demi Company, and provide what I need for Troops for the Garrison detachment.

After that I just need to build the third Infantry Support Box, and start putting the Garrison Detachment together. Which is much easier to do for me with the models assembled and painted.

All the metallics done. Next up red splodge on shoulder pads, which should only take a couple of minutes. Then banners/tabards/cloak inner Celestra Grey. Wee bit of electric blue on the plasma, basing and done.

Next job is taking stock of what I’ve got, and folding it all into a single army list.

Not really, no. Honestly hadn’t thought about it.

Tomorrow I’m working, dog sitting and have my Monday appointment, so might mark that down as a Build day. Or I could be more sensible and get my Spartans base coated grey. Those should be fairly quick, and will help me decide where I want my spot colours on the 28mm versions of the chassis (two Spartans, one Cerberus, which are very close to being next).

Also did some spraying, specifically the infantry support artillery pieces.

12 Tarantulas, 12 Rapiers. They’re fiddly to assemble, but should prove useful during a game. Particularly the quad launcher Rapiers, as whilst not great at it, they can knock down buildings.

25% and a bit through the year, and today is light duties again due to other commitments.

Finished spraying up the Deredeo and Leviathans, and got the drybrush down on the Tarantulas and Rapiers.

12 Deredeo and 12 Leviathan Dreadnoughts receive their Gun Metal drybrush.

Might do some Speed Paint on this lot tonight, but not sure.

So. Much. Black. But that’s all the Infantry Support stuff in the ol’ Grim Black.

Next up silver on weapons, red spot, basing. Should get that done tomorrow. Which means I should probably start undercoating the Spartans tonight.

Load of metallics done. Having a break as the fine detail work is wrecking my eyes. But, just the Rapier platforms to go. Then of course Reddening, and basing.

Well on course to have all this lot done by the end of tomorrow.

This isn’t my only Hobby, you know.

Picked up a cross stitch pattern I want to make for my friends. So there may, well, I say may by which I mean will come a time that my daily hobby won’t be suited to Dakka.

Got the Rapiers done to metallics. Next up is the reds, which I expect to get done this evening.

Those. Are. Spartaaaaaaaaaaans.

Bit of a sod to build, as the weapons are easily broken with clipping them off the sprue. It is something you can work around, just need to clip the right end at the right time to prevent the next clip’s pressure breaking the barrels.

They’re also a two stage Grim Black job, as there’s no handy dandy handhold place. But that side should have these thrashed out today, which will complete my existing Epic army models for now. Will probably go back to 28mm after this.

Appending is probably my doing, as I should probably go edit each post as I add a pic from that day.

Pretty sure the platform normally appends posts by the same user automatically if they're consecutive and within a certain time window, which is why I was wondering if the attached images were what was preventing it.
