Hi folks,
I'm working on putting together my first 40k Ork Deff Dread and I'm planning on putting it in a "one leg in the air" stomping pose.
Has anyone had any issues with this type of thing putting too much strain on the model? Either this model specifically or others like it.
Are super-glue or plastic glue preferable for this kind of thing where the joint is off to the side of the center of gravity?

Christ, where do you buy your turnips?

It generally comes down to two things; how much contact area between the foot and the base for the glue to bond with and how thick the ankle is to take the stress. I don’t think the type of glue particularly matters (although I use poly cement for plastics whenever possible anyway).

The Deff Dread looks fairly reasonable on both counts, so should be fine. Other models vary (Tau battle suits struggle even with both feet on the base!). The solution is to drill and pin through the foot and ankle and into the base to strength the whole joint and keep it aligned, if you’re ever having issues.

Good to know. So I guess I can build it for now and the idea would be to watch the ankle and see if it starts to bend at all?
