As I was reading upon DG I noticed, that I would love to combine two Enhancements - Living Plague ("Add 3" to the range of the bearer’s Aura abilities (including Nurgle’s Gift).") and The Droning ("While an enemy unit is within Contagion Range of the bearer, each time that unit fails a Battle-shock test, roll one D6: on a 2-5, that unit suffers 1 mortal wound; on a 6, that unit suffers D3 mortal wounds."). Of course it isn't possible, BUT...

Description of the army rule states:

If your Army Faction is DEATH GUARD, while an enemy unit is within Contagion Range of this unit, subtract 1 from the Toughness characteristic of models in that enemy unit.

So the buff from Living Plague isn't buffing Nurgle's Gift of the model, but of the unit, because Nurgle's Gift is a unit ability. In turn, The Droning should activate in Contagion Range of the bearer's unit, since the army rule states that Contagion Range is unit-related. When you have two Leaders (DG have a lot of those small characters who can be attached two times), you can have both enhancements working together.

Am I wrong here? Am I interpreting RAW wrong?

On page 56 of the core rules it says

Only Characters can be given
Enhancements and your army
cannot include more than three
Enhancements in total. No unit can
have more than one Enhancement

and each Enhancement included
in your army must be unique.

So even if a unit has two leaders that unit can only have a single enhancement.
If this has changed let me know.

You’d need two Characters with one Enhancement each both in range of your victim unit.

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"

This would be overreading the rule. There is no rule preventing 2 Character units with enhancements from being attached to the same unit nor any rule determining what to do should that happen. Instead, this rule applies to assigning enchantments during list creation. It does not apply to gameplay.

One of the enhancements is improving aura radius, the other is malignant aura. The only question is are they really combined.
