Hey, Got The Big 'Un!
If a Critical Wound is scored from an attack with the Boomy Rifle, that attack gains Precision.

"Sharp" Shooters
If this unit remains stationary, until the beginning of their turn, ranged weapons score a Critical Wound on a 5+.

Spoiler:
So, you might be asking "Why make Precision occur on the WOUND step, rather than the HIT step? Wouldn't Critical Hits being Precision make more sense?"

To which I say, yes-but it'd also slow down gameplay. You'd have to roll your hits, then separate into two piles and roll each one on its own.
By tying it to wound rolls, you eliminate one of the splits needed.

Also, with "Sharp" Shooters, it'd make their hit rolls immune to debuffs. It technically can do the same for wound rolls, but they'd have to be targeting a model that's T9+ and has a wound penalty applied.

These seem pretty reasonable. A couple things that jump out at me:

* Strength 5 on the Grot Long Rifle. This would mean that the grots are packing weapons that wound more reliably than eldar rangers. Then again, ratlings apparently have better AP than rangers. If each species is getting its own slightly different sniper, giving orks a gun with a higher strength is pretty in-character. These grots also have worse BS than rangers and ratlings and *probably* worse special rules, so it all probably evens out fine.

* How expensive did you want the grots to be compared to rangers and ratlings?

* Orks "sniping" with blast weapons is amusing and makes a lot of sense. Being unreliable about putting wounds on specific characters but lethal enough to still be comfortable shooting into a given target is an interesting place to land.

* I haven't crunched the numbers. Is there any concern that the ork snipers might step on the toes of something like tank bustas or lootas?

ATTENTION
. Psychic tests are unfluffy. Your longing for AV is understandable but misguided. Your chapter doesn't need a separate codex. Doctrines should go away. Being a "troop" means nothing. This has been a cranky service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled arguing.

No clue on points-I’m all ears for suggestions.

Tankbustas have D3, so I’m not worried about their toes.
Lootas possibly, but from what I know Lootas are not in a good spot regardless right now.
