Hi,
Just finished the first of the new Killteam Scorpions. Perhaps a bit on the ‘blingy’ side for an infiltrator, but I just can’t resist painting gems and trims on Eldar minis

Cheers,
Oskar

I love the realistic paint job. The highlights are there but not overdone.

Very nice work, I like the lighter shade of green you used.

I can.

Nicely done. I like the choice of the black for the undersuit and the ivory color on the pistol. Seems you usedcthe Neil Roberts art from Path of the Warrior as inspiration.

Thanks for the comments!

The black under-suit was an attempt to break up the otherwise to homegenous green, I like the effect, but it adds a lot of time to the painting. The greens I use don't cover very well (Vallejo Medium Olive) so any small overspill becomes an arduous task to cover again.

I was actually not directly using the source image you quoted, but I see the resemblance. I have certainly seen that image in the past so it might have worked at the back of my mind, but in my own mind I felt I mostly copied the official Heavy Metal theme adding more gems and some different contrasts. The white on the weapon comes from a choice of trying to repeat some patterns across my whole army (Biel-tan) so I make elements green and white when possible. If it works with the schemes I try to paint front part of rifles etc. white.

Currently working on the first exarch and have just magnetised all the weapon options.

Thanks again for your comments,
Oskar
