I’m having a brain malfunction. If I have a unit of let’s say scarabs, 3 inches away from center of board and on an objective. Am I able to score cleanse AND deploy homer? Essentially making two actions with one unit to score both fixed secondaries? I’m having trouble finding literature in the rules to say that I can’t?????

Yes you can. Both rules happen in the shooting phase at the same time. Sequencing rule says if two or more rules are to be resolved at the same time the player whose turn it is chooses the order.

Both those Secondaries say to select a unit or units that “are eligible to shoot.” They also say that until the the end of your turn those units are “not eligible to shoot.”

So, once the Scarabs have been selected for one Secondary requiring being eligible to shoot that unit cannot do another one with that requirement. They are no longer eligible to shoot. They could count for others like Engage or Area Denial.

But perhaps there is some clause somewhere?

All you have to do is fire three rounds a minute, and stand

You select them for both at the same time, in the shooting phase.

No. Per the Sequencing rules, you must select one rule and resolve it before resolving the second. By the second rule resolution, the unit is no longer eligible to shoot and therefore cannot be selected for that objective.

Are you saying that sequencing can make valid rules invalid ? I dont see anything in the sequencing rule supporting that.

The Sequencing rules on page 9 says that if two or more rules are to be resolved at the same the player whose turn it is chooses the order. So there is an order.

The two Tactical Objectives in question instruct us in the Shooting phase to select a unit eligible to shoot. The shooting phase rules explain what makes a unit eligible to shoot.

So let’s say the Necron player wants to perform Cleanse and Deploy Teleport Homers with the same unit. Sequencing tells the player to choose the order. The player can choose to start with either Objective. Both Tactical Objective rules tell us that the selected units are not eligible to shoot right after the part about being selected. So this indicates that a unit can only do one such Tactical Objective per Shooting phase. Sequencing does not offer an escape clause to that.

All you have to do is fire three rounds a minute, and stand

No. I'm saying sequencing can make a unit not longer an eligible target for a rule. Once you've selected a unit to be the target of one of the objectives, the unit becomes no longer eligible to be selected by the second objective.

Yes you have to you two units for that reason

If you select both

You resolva a it is now not eligible to shoot b fails to resolve and youve missed your opportunity
