I have a bunch of tank commander bodies, and a lot of extra arms and heads. What conversions could I use these for to make them usable in a game? Guys wading through a swamp maybe.. but all the models are too static looking. I mean they are supposed to be sticking straight out of a tank hatch.

Just trying to think of some interesting/ easy way to use these models.


Same goes for heavy weapons extra weapons. I've already stretched the contents of the heavy weapons team box to the max after buying some additional bases, but I still have leftover weapons.
I was thinking maybe some tarantula turrets, but I don't know what else I could use to make them.

I have a ton of tank sponsons too before it was free to add them to every tank. I bet they would make some decent tiny bunkers if they were combined.

@ Heavy weapons: always nice for conversions. The lascannons specifically can be used to make some decent Leman Russ/Malcador Annihilator weapons if you build the turret in a way that you can replace the weapons.

Also I personally think a Hydra with Quad Lascannons would look pretty cool (and could effortlessly use the normal stats)

@ Tank Crew dudes: Due to their static poses I could see them turned into some kind of Artillery observers after adding legs.

Combine the two?

Make mini bunker or trench things with tankers popping out and firing the extra heavy weapons?

If you are ok using 3rd party components, then you can buy legs that are in scale with the commander bodies from places like Anvil Industry, Victoria Miniatures, or Mad Robot Miniatures. They are quite good for officers with the medals on chests etc.

For the components where the commander is standing up in the cupola, you do have to trim the legs off at the belt to fit them to normal legs.

They can also make good terrain pieces for objective markers etc.- I have a stretcher carrying an injured trooper that has lost both legs above the knee...
