I don't think that the date of the oldest threads on the page is a reason to close the subforum. If it was, Dakka should close the
LOTR/Hobbit section as that has threads last updated in 2020! On the other hand, it has threads less than 2 months old.
Off topic has several active threads. To some extent, this is a consequence of the tendency towards megathreads these days. The firearm thread could easily have been dozens of threads with a handful of replies each instead.
I do find it ironic that this very thread pushed the May 2023 thread onto the next page

On another level, I personally spend a lot more time in this subforum than geek media or video games, and it is 8% of my post count. I wouldn't argue that either of the other two subforums should be removed just because I don't personally use them much. Yet video games also has a thread dating back to June on the first page...
