Hi all,

I'm new to 10th and have written up a guard list based around the models I have and what seems to be popular at the moment (I'm not overly concerned with competitive though). I'm just looking for general advice on what people would do to get under the 2000pt limit and what minor alterations they would make in regards to loadouts etc. All C&C is welcome though.

Hey mate,
Looking good.
New points costs have just dropped so you could save a few points perhaps.
I would say, put 2 of the catachan squads in the chimeras, that will give you easy point scoring units. Blob the other 2 and you can send them forward as a screen and they'll be more worthwhile for the reinforcements strategem.
Upgrade the demolisher to a tank commander, it can still have the same gun and then it can give orders to the rogal dorn or basilisk. The demolisher special ability isn't all that amazing.

Also you probably don't need all 3 sentinels? You've only got 1 basilisk. You could have more infantry or add a dkk marshal for the points instead, kitbash the latter from whatever you have lying around.

Run a whole lot of wfrp and other rpg's, play The Woods and Kill Team, gather and look mournfully at imperial guard knowing I'll never finish enough to use them on the tabletop

This brings me down to 1985pts and I'm pretty happy with how this looks. I am wondering if i'll get much value out of the paired up sentinels from reinforcements or if I'm better off swapping one out for an armoured sentinel.

I'd personally have the 2 scout sentinels and use them as separate units, so that way you've a higher chance of being able to spot for the basilisk each time your turn rolls around. They hopefully won't both die in the same turn so you can bring one back to flank a juicy target.

The Calidus actually went up to 100 points in the most recent update, and the Bullgryns are now 90, plus the Basalist is now 150, though the Scions did drop to 50 so that puts you at 2015.

As for the list, it looks pretty solid. Very much agree with splitting up the Sentinels to gain more benefit. Even if you're not spotting for the Basilisk, re-roll 1's is still great.
