hi there,

I have two fully painted Quar skirmish bands, the old metal ones.

Are the revised rules worth picking up? I"ll get the box set while I'm at it.

You can get the rules, including the addendums for the 3D print figures, for free here:
https://rhyfler.com/rulebooks/

Depending on the factions you have you might need to proxy some, but you can try them out. Then decide if you want to pick up the new plastic and resin figures.

Also apparently a new mass battle 28mm ruleset is coming by the end of 2025.

I know kinda replying to a necroed-ish post, but...

We recently got pretty into Quar after seeing them pop up on my radar for a while. It's a surprisingly good little game. The skirmish level game, Clash of Rhyfles, is still getting more stuff added to it, as the rules in the two player box can be seen as a "quickstart" set. It's a lot more about suppression and board control than just "killin ur dudez," though it is still pretty bloody.

The mass battles rules are in internal playtest right now, and I think the target date for nailing that down is like February 2025, so probably more like a spring release for those rules. WGA is doing a lot of expansion to the plastic kits availability from what I've heard, too.

Josh, the game creator, also has a My Mini Factory page where he sells a lot of STLs for Quar, covering some of the special units and so forth. If you don't have a printer, you can still get them off Zombiesmith.com as a POD kind of product from him as well.

The models are all still available, direct from Zombiesmith, as is the rulebook. Rumor also has it that the new mass battle system will be usable with either 28mm or 15mm models (probably something as simple as swapping measurements from inches to centimeters).

Oh that's cool, a good compromise then. Thanks.
