I am in the process of building a diorama, involving Snagrod and Pedro Kantor, with a few other units. The only real problem i am having, is I am not sure what base model to start with for Snagrod.

I have the weapons/arms I am going to use and most likely paint him in the Blood Axes paint scheme. After reading Rynn's World with his tactics I think Blood Axes fit him.

I have see Ork Warboss With Attack Squig model, I would exclude the Squig. I think it might be a good fit, I know I will have to do some sculpting and modeling to make some items fit him, that's not an issue.

I was wanting other peoples opinions on if that would be a good model to start with or if there is another that would be a good fit to create Snagrod. Any help is appreciated.

Yeah, a warboss feels correct to me as well. I’m partway through painting my own version of Snagrod; using the warboss from Assault at Black Reach.

What worked for me building a custom Snikkrot (yes different Ork, I know) is to use Varag ghoulchewer's model, it has good kitbash options.
