I've had a few games of this, and have my own copy due to arrive this week.

for me this is one of the better WW2 "small skirmish" games, a couple of squads, command and a few support bits, a small board with dense terrain and critically a feeling like I am making choices that matter.

weapon fire effect is random, as it should be, the burn/boost mechanic is quite clever in that you can manipulate effectiveness by positioning

so far it plays fast, the outcomes feel logical and I've not felt like a passenger, when its been a hopeless situation it is entirely my own fault.

the low model count makes it quick yo get into the way the army building works eliminates a lot of min/max type stuff.

all round cracking little game

Anyone else played this?

so far only one, well quirk really, British have a pretty good chance for a pre-game bombardment, which does what you would expect - roll to hit against each team - trouble is you have one team thats a single bod - your commander, fail his save so he dies pre-game and you may as well pack up and start again.

there are rules about how he cannot be targeted if he is near another unit, but this barrage doesn't target anything as such

bit of a quirk but has basically decided two games now as being a one man team hes only got to fail a single save and bye-bye..
