If you have a squad of Tau Pathfinders and a Devilfish, which is a dedicated transport. If you give the unit the Recon Drone, which states:

"The bearer is equipped with 1 drone burst cannon and the bearer’s unit has the Infiltrators ability."

Does the Pathfinders, who are embarked on the Devilfish, get to use the Infiltrators ability for the Devilfish when setting up for the game? [It probably has no bearing at all, but the Recon Drone actually fits inside the hull of the Devilfish, like the turret on the Hammerhead.]

I understand that the rules specify that the Scouts ability does transfer to the the Dedicated Transport, and that Infiltrate does not specify the same.

As of now, I am assuming no, it does not. Unless someone can point me to more info on the differences between Transports and Dedicated Transports. I've look at everything in the core rules, and the Core Rules Updates and Rules Commentary.

The Devilfish is not in the Pathfinders unit, so it does not benefit.

TRANSPORT and DEDICATED TRANSPORT are different keywords. For instance, a Razorback has both.

The answer is an unequivocal no.

CORE RULES UPDATES VERSION 1.1 (WITH RULES COMMENTARY 1.3) wrote:Q: Can a unit embarked within a Transport make use of any rules it has to affect that Transport? For example, if a Lieutenant is embarked within a Rhino, does its Target Priority ability let that Rhino shoot and declare a charge in a turn in which it Fell Back?
A: No. The only rules that take effect while the units possessing them are embarked within a Transport are those that explicitly state that they take effect while such a unit is embarked.
Note that while Scouts explicitly allows Dedicated Transports to benefit from the ability possessed by units embarked within it, Infiltrators does not. Furthermore, there are no abilities on Devilfish nor Pathfinders that allow it to pass to the Devilfish.
