Hiding from Florida-Man.

"Salute plurimam dicit. Si vales, bene est, ego valeo."

I am returning to the gaming fold after a 14 year hiatus. I'm sure I wasn't missed at many a 40k table. As much as I hate to admit it, I wasn't ever going to win a Best Sportsman award due to the blocks of cheese I would deploy onto the table.

Case in point, I used to use an Imperial Guard Armoured Company with as many Basilisks that I could cram in my list with my favorite evil model of all time; Lord Solar Macharius and his broken rule, "I go first."

Sine then transportation became an issue as riding the El prevents you from carrying too many troops, so my forces became a little smaller (but no less broken) Iyanden wraith armies, Dark Angels Deathwing/Ravenwing, and finally Space Wolves tossing Jaws of the World Wolf around willy-nilly.

Then everything changed, and I honestly didn't think I
would ever be playing again.

Fast forward to now, and things aren't so bleak.

The reason why I bring up this trail of horror is so you know what brings me back... I learned that I could build one of my favorite moments in the Horus Heresy novels into a playable army: the final battle in the web way with Custodes, Sisters of Silence, and House Vyridion Imperial Knights. (Sadly no rules for the Emperor... yet).

When I left the hobby (many editions ago) Legio Custodes were resin only and Imperial Knights were not yet a thing, so this will be a dream army to build.

Here's the rub. I have no idea what ruleset to use, or what models I will need to obtain. Any suggestions or prodding will be helpful.

Thank you for your time.
