I finally found a great knight house... House Sidus. They have a color scheme, emblem, everything!
Plus they are a Mechanicus House without a shred of red anywhere on their suits, and that's a big plus for me.
But they are the color of Ryza: Orange, Black, & Gold.
The question how to make Ryza Orange over Black. I can use any paint color that's easy to procure.
PS. this is my latest idea.... paint my 40k/HH Knights in the same Color scheme as they will be when they support the Titan Legio Crucios in AT/LI. Good idea?

I presume you want to basecoat/prime in black, given how much black/metal is on the sample model.
To support painting an orange (even a desaturated, brownish-orange like that one) over top that won't be a metallic, I'd first base the areas in an ochre or warm brown. Can do that for all the gold areas at the same time. This'll give you a good foundation to put the warmer colours on without them looking dingy.
As for actual paint colours, just pick the closest thing in whatever brand(s) you prefer to work in. Or grab a golden yellow, vibrant orange and warm brown - mix in whatever ratio pleases your eye.

Not sure if there are any official decals for House Sidus, but if not, and as long as you can get hold of decent vectors of the icons you want, you can always get Scumb4g Kustoms to print some decals off for you: https://scumb4gkustoms.com/

Anyone know of any decent tutorials dealing with decals and water transfers?

This is the one I use: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgPJbxKjXak&t=427s
You'll need to get a bottle each of microsol and microset, but they're not too expensive and they'll last you ages. There's another tutorial I've seen before that only used microset but that didn't work at all for me. In fact it was pretty disastrous, so definitely go for one that uses both.
Hope that helps!
