Hey guys, I was wondering if the rules allow me to add an Imperial Knight to my Black Templar army as a “free blade” I believe they are called. My understanding of the rules listed in the Black Templar Index and the Imperial Knights seem a bit conflicting as to whether or not that is legal.

Yep, you can add 1 large knight or 3 armigers to your army, but they cannot be your warlord.

Okay awesome thank you! Am I still able to use a black Templar detachment and stratagems as long as I am not using it on the imperial knight?

Yep. Just make sure you magnetize those arms so you can switch them out in the future.
