After a few chats with several people and starting to read the rules here is the list I'm loosely building to start out and learn how to play. I'm currently working on building the Breacher units right now. The Castellan and Predators are the only models I don't currently have on it's way to me. I get the keep a theme, not taking any obligatory or tax units so I'll enjoy everything I'll field.

I thought about doing Lascannons before settling on Imp. Fists. Once I settled on the Legion, Autocannons felt like a decent trade for hitting on 2's. Yes, I'm relying on 6's to punch armor but that's what the Siege Breaker is in there for. Running the Contemptors with Lascannons to back them up. It wasn't until I read the Castellan though that options really stood out and I really think running all 3 Heavy squads is the best way to make use of him. I feel that the both squads already give me some tactical flexibility without fully committing them to a dedicated role. As I play around with other lists, it's hard for me not include him if I take any Heavy Squads.
It's a foot slogging list for sure, but I really want to see how much punishment this list can take on it's own feet before jumping into a Stone Gauntlet. I'm already ready to mix it up though and drop down to 2
Tac Squads in Rhinos, add a Rhino to the Illiastus squad with the free'd up points and add in the other units like Scouts, and Seekers. I have 2 Land Raiders if I want to go more mobile, but not really my playstyle
tbh, just the option is there.
With both of these approaches, there just isn't room for the Deredeos right now. Not much fun, but I'd like to get some standard Contemptors and maybe a Leviathan or 2 down the line just to have in my collection. Going that route I'm just a step away from a Fury of the Ancients list which I'm told is a good way to lose friends, but I'd like to be able to play Giant Stompy robots for fun if I go that far.
