Getting ready to run demos and a tournament for the hard Sci-Fi game, BLKOUT at Siege of Augusta this year. Thought I would show some of the stuff I've been working on.

UN 3rd BN box set painted up.

Some of the terrain I've done, all MDF painted up. Graffiti done with brush tip acrylic paint markers.

I love the game, very quick paced, lots of fun interactions. Played typically on 3x3 or 2x2, I'm using 2x2 for quicker games at the convention.

Nice minis and terrain! How does it play? What's a "normal" army consist of? How long do typical games take?

Thanks!

Fast and deadly. Typical army is three units (in the case above the bigger robot or interdiction suite) is a unit, the two smaller bots are a unit, and the 4 troopers are a unit. If all from the same force you get to use some special force rules. You can switch out a unit with another so they don't need to be from the same 'force'.

For matched play you use the three units plus an individual known as a 'handler'. Handlers are a single troop specialist unit, kind of mercy that you can add to your force to fill capability gaps. For example if you don't have any cyber/EW capability you may b ring on the 'data handler' to Gove you some.

There are also big piloted mechs, or 'Dusters' that players can use if agreed upon.

Games are typically on a 3x3 or 2x2, area and will take between 30-60 minutes depending on how well the players know the rules and how much BSing is going on.

They have a Discord with a great group of folks if you're interested.

Rules are a free download, though there are some expansions that do have a cost (but are not needed if you don't want them). You can also purchase a hardcopy ion the rules, but the online/download has some extra files like a QRS and the match play rules.

Some Pod Housing from Brutal Cities. Had these assembled for a while and finally found time to get some paint on them.

These are the 2x2 set ups I used at Siege ion Augusta for BLKOUT demos, pick ups games, and a 9 player tournament.
