I just painted up their Orcs of the Jagged Wound, 3d printed models from the recently delivered kickstarter, and they were... A bit rough.

Lots of nipples remained, where the supports detached, and two models (there were 6 in the set) had really distracting print lines. Luckily I was able to apply paint a wee bit thicker than I normally do, and that mostly took care of the lines. But I wasn't that impressed.

Has anyone else had issues with their 3d prints? Maybe these were just early prints, and they were getting used to the kinks in the system?

I just painted last month's free bard and the Freebooter Steampunk Lady without any issues whatsoever. I'll try to post pics when I get the chance.

How brittle are Reaper's 3D prints?

I have some 3D printed models and they are harder to transport without incident than my other plastic and metal models.

I just cleaned up Desmond the Bard (the January Freebie), and he seems durable. At least the same hardness of material as the prints I buy from Heroforge. While some prints I bought from Etsy proved hard but brittle. Not clear on the material differences, but it seems 3D printer plastic is brittle compared to 3D printer resin, as the resin prints I bought from other Etsy vendors are (seemingly) durable. At least they don't snap as soon as I pick them up to clean them! So it looks like Reaper 3D prints should be okay, but I've just the one at the moment.

As for clean up, the nipples and other support remnants were not that bad. Also, there were no print lines, unlike the 3D models I got as part of Fireforge's Undead Kickstarter.

And we're back!

No real theme this month, but lots of neat interesting figures and some ole reliable standards.

Sometimes I just have to let the Reaper copywriters explain...

Dire Gummy Bear
NOT ACTUAL CANDY! DO NOT EAT!
Sculpted by Jason Wiebe

Welcome to the Sugarcrypt, a sickly-sweet labyrinth where every step squelches with syrup and every breath tastes like impending doom. Rock Candy Golems grind their jagged limbs in the dark. Molasses Oozes slither between licorice tiles, hungry for flesh. Gingerbread Knights guard peppermint gates with icing-coated swords. But beware the Dire Gummy Bear—a hulking, semi-translucent terror with a thousand-yard stare and a taste for blood sugar. What starts as a confectionery curiosity soon spirals into a saccharine nightmare. In the Sugarcrypt, the walls aren’t just made of candy—they are candy. And they’re watching. Smiling. Melting. Hungry. Sweet dreams, adventurer.

This Dire Gummy Bear is printed in translucent resin, allowing you to stain it with Reaper's Tinted Glosses or painted with opaque paint if you prefer.

This Dire Gummy Bear is NOT made of edible material, so please don't put it in your mouth, even if someone dares you. We can't believe we even have to write this, but if people will eat Tide Pods, they might try to eat one of these.

So, to repeat, DON'T EAT THIS MINIATURE!

Well that's a strong start!

Tired of shabby undead who look like they live in the gutter, want someone with a little pride and class? Reaper has you covered.

A steampunk robot iron golem, certainly tempting. I like that it has the tags for poison gas, y'know in case someone hasn't read the first edition Monster Manual.

It's refreshing to see more female representation, I just wish sculptors wouldn't go for a cheap thrill with them. Put some clothes on her!

Dorthy and Toto, nice to see some civilians. Useful for all sorts of things.

What's more fun than a barrel of monkeys?
Winged monkeys! Robo winged monkeys! Steampunk robo winged monkeys!

Steampunk wild west Wizard of Oz Good Witch! I don't like the star on her staff but otherwise a really good figure.

And two munchkins who again could be civilian halflings/dwarves/gnomes for a lot of games.

A werewolf, a war dog and a some wolf wolves. I wonder if there'd be a market for a line of weredogs with different breeds and different outfits... seems it would be more interesting than more werewolves.

A barbarian! Swinging a sword, could also be easily converted into a dancing barbarian!

A dwarf, with a pick axe! And a beer! And horns on his hat!

https://www.reapermini.com/search/22000

And finally 100+ core models from Bones 6 models for $250. No picture of what you get but you might be able to find a pic from the kick starter.

All in all another interesting month. Some good civilian and character models and hey, robo steampunk winged monkeys!

I wonder if these new figs are traditionally hand sculpted or if digital sculptors emulate the classic style asthetics nowadays.

Those ones look tradidionally sculpted to me (from the style of the fur and mail).

Yeah it's interesting - the dwarf at the bottom has the good old "stick something pointy into the green stuff repeatedly" style of chain mail but the detail on the mug and the helmet seems somehow more precise

Most of those aren't actually new sculpts, they're just in a new material. Pretty sure I've had that werewolf for several years in v1 Bones plastic, and it was in metal before that.

A number of these figures are new to Reaper, but not new otherwise, as they were sculpted by Werner Klocke, and were recently acquired by Reaper from Freebooter. That Undead Lady is one such. I find her disturbing despite my preference for undead; I shall have to get a copy.

Thanks for the context regarding the figs. The original question was more in general regarding Reaper and not necessarily because of aspects of those most recently posted figs.

That Bard looks like Johan, from the Smurfs. Do they have The Smurfs, too?

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

And we're back!

For April several more sets from Bones 6 have been put online feel free to check them out.

https://www.reapermini.com/newreleases

This month's freebie (with $40 purchase) is just pure cuteness.

Model wise we have some neat ones this month.

The Imperial Enchantress is good, but her pet monkey really makes me want to take it home.

Her counterpart the Imperial Noble has an extra smackable face, I mean just look at it! Incompetent NPC written all over him.

Rather shocked the "Female Dark Elf on a Lizard" didn't get a name, come to think of it neither did the first two. So I shall dub her Ky'll'ra Raptorider-McAlister III.

The unnamed 'Female Barbarian' continues the sad and tired cliche of underdressed barbarian women. I mean she may be an ignorant savage from the Frozen North but surely Bretta Bigguns-Lorenzatto knows the importance of sleeves in the winter!

See Durok, Dwarf Ranger knows how to dress for the weather!

And he has a name.

Now I know we've had "Kelainen Darkmantle, Wizard" before at least twice because I've made the joke about him casting Comrade Molotav's Fiery Cocktail before.

Won't stop me from making it again.

I have a joke about Galdanoth, "Elf Archer" using elves for arrows and their pointy ears making them deadly but I feel like it needs more cooking...

Anyway despite the lack of names for some we have a good collection this week and I'm looking forward to more.

Thanks for the link. I went through the past couple months and I apparently missed this seeing this one as it stuck out as my favorite from all the previews they listed this year.

About the only think I'd convert on that model would be to add bigger shoulder armor/pads but that might be the remnants of the GW 40k asthetics spees marine fan in me talking...

April Molotov's bring May Shamen as they say in the miniatures business.

Or so I imagine.

I'm not in the miniatures business.

This month's freeby is a 3d printed "Ogre Bodyguard" which is a nice figure with another disappointing name. I mean was naming it Smashface the Ogre Bodyguard so hard?

Then we have some more Werner Klocke goodness, in this case a Chaos Sorceress apparently pulling a flying monkey out of her cape!

I could say more but why gild the lily am I right?

Then we have Caryth, the blond haired, fair-skinned 'Dark' Elf.

Somewhere a little girl with wine-colored skin and spider-themed lingerie is looking at this figure and feeling that she can never be a murder hobo.

Hey Reaper #representationmatters! Dark Elfs should have purple skin and white hair!

Then we have Raven the Harpy who can also be used as Samantha the Were Eagle, Gloria the Angel or Shiera the Hawkwoman!

An essential figure for any collection.

Black Rose, who I assume is either a vampire or a stripper from the East Village. When you name your daughter Black Rose there's not really many career options.

And then we have FAIRY.

Not Goodblossom the Fairy Guardian, or even Tanglethorn the Fairy Trickster, nope. Just FAIRY.

Now FAIRY, take a look at Mad Rogat the Dwarf Hero here. There's a name that tells a story. If you're looking for amicable and cordial Rogat the Dwarf Hospitality Worker, clearly you're in the wrong place. His name TELLS you something. FAIRY, just doesn't.

Reaper is taking advantage of their new DC license with a Batgirl figure. Must be a new costume. IDK, I've not really kept up since the New 52.

And finally an Orc Shaman. I like that he's just sitting there casting bones, I assume divining the future - "Boss, the spirits say there's gonna be a big fight". Something more cerebral than the usual orc.

So there we are, nothing huge but a lot of interesting and solid models.

I must be getting old, all of that female skin showing but the mini that appeals most to me is the Orc shaman.

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.

I build IG...lots and lots of IG.

I liked the chipped sword. That fighter must have the missing fingers flaw and fumbles on 1-3.

And some June releases! How can 2025 be half over!?

First off, the Halloween Batling, released in June so there is a slim, slim chance I might actually paint it by October. Slim.

Finally you can recreate your favorite scenes from the Loki series with the Dark Elf Variant Assassin! Now playing on Disney Plus!

Much like the Dark Elf Variant Assassin the Dark Elf Hero on Lizard doesn't get a proper name. Unless... what if in the Foul Tongue of the Dark Elves the actual word "Dark Elf" (probably pronounced "Dh'arrkh AElahf") is a proper name, like Fred?

Where to start? The pink lunch sack? The torn boots? The torn chausses? Is there anything about this Mercenary Marksman I don't like?

A Chaos Demon (I really miss the names, Reaper bring back the crazy names!), and all I have to say is this someone's fetish. And there's nothing wrong with that.

Fairy #2, I imagine that Fairy's #2 smells sweet like strawberries and has a nice shape like a heart or a shamrock. Probably pink too.

Spoiler:

NSFW painted pic.

So this month is more of Werner Klocke's old line, now 3d prints. It does make me wonder what's going on with other Reaper lines? I would imagine they have to get away from the China-produced Bones and Bones Black, there's no telling from week to week what America's trade policy is. So maybe that's slowing down releases?

Ah well. Good stuff regardless.

Another fairy? Makes me wonder if Reaper is looking to get people playing that old Kenzer & co. game, Fairy Meat. It's the only 1;1 scale tabletop miniatures game out there. Never mind how fairy #2 smells, it's how she tastes that matters. At least to other fairies.

Also the best fairy is the green fairy, la fée verte Yes it is legal in the USA now.

Reaper Miniatures to Relocate EU/UK Warehouse Operations to the Netherlands
Reaper Miniatures is announcing the closure of our UK-based warehouse as we prepare to relocate operations to a new facility in the Netherlands. This move is part of our ongoing efforts to improve service and logistics for our European customers.
To facilitate this transition, we will be temporarily suspending all EU/UK warehouse orders starting Sunday, June 22, 2025. During this downtime, customers are still welcome to place orders through our US warehouse.
Barring any major delays, we anticipate our new EU warehouse will be back online by the end of the summer. We appreciate your patience and support as we work to complete this move smoothly and efficiently.
Thank you for being a valued part of the Reaper community.

via facebook

the UK warehouse was a good idea that never quite seemed to work (what you wanted never seemed to be available), hopefully the EU version will work a bit better

I'm a bit intrigued by the move, unless they've calculated they do way more EU sales than to the UK. But if they don't put more effort into stocking it than they did the UK one I doubt it changes much.
