See title. My local GW is gonna be running a Kill Team league, and I was wondering what'd be a good starting team, and what teams are pretty good in general.

Intercession used to be a pretty good team to start with in KT21. I haven't played KT24 so dont know what would be comparable? Angels Of Death maybe?
From what I've read, KT24 criticism at the moment seems to be that elite teams are still at the top of the meta.. That might change down the line as balance updates become available. KT21 ended in a great place in terms of balance, which KT24 threw out the window

I'm enjoying the Ork Kommandos. I have a 50% win rate. Just don't play the Vespid or Mechanicus, our local players don't like them, and are buying new Kill Teams this weekend.
The Vespid is buying Imperial Agents, and the Mechanicus player is picking up some Eldar Khaine squad.

You can never go wrong stating with Space Marines (Angels of Death)....
That said? All but 1 of my KT24 have been using my Votaan (Salvagers). They've been fun & effective enough - though I'd recommend skipping the beamer weapon. I've never been able to get it to work very effectively.
Every time we play I consider swapping it out for one of the other guns. Then I never get around to digging out the bitz once I'm home....

An elite team should be a good start, not to overwhelm you with the number of possible activations each turn:
Angels of Death (marines)
Chaos Legionaries
Nemesis Claw (Night Lords)
Wrecka Boyz
but also Void Dancer Troupe (Harlequins)
All of these are also really solid when it comes to power (bar Wreckas who are average).

I'm starting out with Angels of Death, as I have been grabbing some Primaris Lieutenant models and other random Space Marines to use as my Kill Team.
Haven't played any games yet, but my first opponent will be against some Ork Kommandos.
