This is a list I'm trying to put together as a sensible one to work fairly well in my local group which currently has T'au Empire (I think it's a Retaliation Cadre - lots of suits/no Kroot), Tyranids, Necrons, and two players building Marine armies - specifically Dark Angels Ravenwing and Thousand Sons. So that's what I'm up against. I also like the idea of the Salamander's having lots of Thunder Hammers thematically, hence the little bit of all eggs in one basket nature here. I'm not married to the Firestorm Assault Force detachment, so happy to switch it out. I also didn't include the Salamander-specific Epic Heroes because it's just a 1K list...

Chaplain Grabthar's Purifiers (980 points)

Salamanders Space Marines
Incursion (1000 points)
Firestorm Assault Force

CHARACTERS

Chaplain in Terminator Armour (100 points)
Crozius Arcanum
Relic Shield
Enhancement: War-tempered Artifice

BATTLELINE

Intercessor Squad (160 points)
1 x Intercessor Sergeant
1 x Bolt Rifle
1 x Bolt Pistol
1 x Thunder Hammer
9 x Intercessor Marines
9 x Bolt Rifles
9 x Bolt Pistols
9 x Close Combat Weapons

OTHER DATASHEETS
Infernus Squad (180 points)
1 x Infernus Sergeant
1 x Pyreblaster
1 x Bolt Pistol
1 x Close Combat Weapon
9 x Infernus Marines
9 x Pyreblasters
9 x Bolt Pistols
9 x Close Combat Weapons

Terminator Assault Squad (180 points)
1 x Terminator Assault Sergeant
1 x Thunder Hammer
1 x Storm Shield
4 x Terminator Assault Marines
4 x Thunder Hammers
4 x Storm Shields

Land Raider Redeemer (285 points)
1 x Armoured Tracks
2 x Flamestorm Cannon
1 x Twin Assault Cannon

Rhino (75 points)
1 x Armoured Tracks
1 x Storm Bolter

The Chaplain and Assault Terminators ride in the Redeemer, and the Infernus Squad gets the Rhino.

Also, I was gifted a Primaris Redemptor Dreadnought, as well as the Primaris Lieutenant and 5 Assault Intercessors from the Recruit Edition box if you can think of a way to work those in...

Make a bigger list.

Or you just swap units in/out of your 1k list occasionally.

Rhinos can’t transport models in Tacticus armor.

Still stuck in the middle of transition to normalizing parimaris.

Other then that, looks like a fun 1k list. A little light on long range firepower, but that’s the detachment/theme, so can’t really complain.

Aside from the Rhino not being able to transport Tacticus units that was mentioned above, the biggest thing I'd be concerned about is the number of units.

The Land Raider is going to be really hard to kill in a 1k game sure, but it doesn't leave you too many units for objectives. Splitting up the Intercessorts into 2 squads of 5 would certainly help though.

If you want to keep the list as close to this as possible then for the Infernus Marines, you could stick them in a Drop Pod as those can carry Tacticus units and they can also be dropped on turn 1, so if you go second, you can just place well and go to town with Immolation Protocols right away. Drop Pods are also (currently) OC2, so then can hold objectives and do actions if needed.

Thanks for the heads up about the Rhino not being able to transport Tacticus. I guess I need to read C:SM again to spot obvious things.

I like the idea of splitting the Intercessors into two 5-man squads for flexibility. Could even use the Assault Intercessors I mentioned as one of the 5-man squads and save a tiny bit of $

Never even considered a Drop Pod. Swapping the Rhino out for one makes a lot of sense here.
